Towards A Definition of CTRM in the Cloud

Over the last few weeks, a familiar question keeps coming up. What does “cloud’ mean and what actually is CTRM in the cloud? In fact, in 2014, ComTech attempted some definitions in its CTRM In The Cloud research report kindly sponsored by Aspect, Brady and Generation 10. I am reproducing those definitions below in order to continue the discussion around these terms. The CommodityPoint study found many buyers didn’t know which vendors offered cloud deployed CTRM solutions, and it also implied that there was confusion over what the term really means and the benefits and pitfalls of the model. For instance, screen scraping a CTRM application and offering access via Citrix is not cloud; however, it is a generally accepted method for delivery of software via the internet.
